Tickets are about to go on sale for this year’s Tastemakers of Delray Beach event.  The event, which takes place on Thursday, August 8 and Friday, August 9 allows the foodies who purchase a ticket to stroll through downtown Delray Beach and sample a snack and cocktail from each of the 18 participating restaurants.

The tickets, called “passports,” cost $30 each and $1.00 per passport will be donated to Spady Cultural Heritage Museum.  Once you have your passport, you can show up at any of the participating restaurants on August 8 and 9 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. to try a sample of whatever menu item and cocktail they are featuring.

Although it’s hot outside, I have had a great time at Tastemakers the last two years.  It’s a nice opportunity to explore Delray Beach by foot, network, make some new friends, get tipsy and of course stuff your face!  Since the event lasts for two days, I recommend doing the east side of downtown Delray Beach one night, and the west side the other, but that’s up to you—you can show up to the restaurants in any order that you please.

The passports go on sale July 1 and can be purchased in cash at any of the participating restaurants.  They have sold out in the past, so if you want to go I wouldn’t wait until the last minute.
